Hannah Bual: I started my journey in BTC-CGST with a mindset of the opportunity to be equipped when I was at the point in my life where I wanted to be better in serving in the ministry the Lord has called me to. I also started with the aim of learning and understanding better some theological concepts and doctrines that I had a hard time grasping. Yet my journey did not stop at just learning and having the opportunity to be equipped. There was a big shift that happened in my life. It was a great journey of renewal of the mind and a deeper sense of my faith in Jesus — I journeyed at BTC-CGST with a strengthened worldview of how I should be living as a Christian.

The Kingdom of God (KoG) was thoroughly explained by my professors. They noted that a major shift of reality happened when Jesus overcame death. Although not of the same impact, the way I looked at the world also had a massive shift. The way I viewed things was totally changed. There was a huge shift in how I see things and events, holding the value of taking captive all the principles and philosophies of the world and examining it through the eyes of Jesus — to use the Biblical lens in looking through events in life.

I would say my journey in the seminary has led me to growth and maturity (not that I am already perfect), it has led me to a deeper relationship with the Lord. This institution, through its faculty and staff, has been a guiding instrument that helped me realize the value and depth of Christianity through our Lord Jesus Christ, where teachings came from correct handling of God’s Word. It was clear to me then that I should not only share in the benefits of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, but also to gladly share the sufferings that are included in following Him.

With such renewed perspective in life, my passion in the service has been fueled, not only in serving my brothers and sisters in Christ, but most especially in ministering to the unbelievers. It also has equipped me to correctly handle God’s Word and to encourage the church in the application of His Word in our daily lives.

The depth of knowing who He is has led me to an outflow of so much love for the ministry and to be more creative in ways that I could use in leading people to Christ. That is, with the help of the enormous techniques and scholarly inputs that was given and handed down by my professors, a foundation was built so that I may not be moved, not only in the ministry, but in this lifetime of pilgrimage, waiting for Christ’s glorious return.

Looking back at what BTC-CGST has done made me remember what Apostle Paul said in Ephesians 4:11-13,

¹¹So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, ¹² to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up ¹³ until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.

To me, BTC-CGST has used its gift in ministering on a bigger scale to the body of Christ. This educational institution has served its gift in building up Christian leaders to attain maturity in Christ. And I am utmost grateful and thankful to have been one of the recipients of such grace. I praise and thank the Lord for such a great journey to spiritual depth in Christ Jesus which will continue even as I live in eternity with Jesus Christ.

Faith dela Torre: BTC is not just a school but a school that will mold you in all aspects glocally (globally and locally) as leaders and ministers of the church. I decided to study in that school to be equipped in the ministry, but I never thought that the impact would really change me for the rest of my life. Courses are all biblically founded and very relevant to my life and even to these present times. The children’s stories and verses I once memorized became more meaningful and significant. My knowledge of the Bible, doctrines and faith is now rooted in the Bible and stronger than before. Not only that, but the school also helped me to see the need in this world to reach out to people who don’t know Jesus yet locally or globally. Teachers do not only engage us inside the classroom, but they also allow us to be part of their lives by depicting to us a life that is Christ centered in all relationships: friends, family, and strangers. Seeing these models gave me an ideal perspective of life. I graduated from this institution a year ago, but through the trainings, skills, learning and wisdom I acquired from the school and from the people I met, I was given a boost about how to live in the world where beliefs and principles will be challenged. I am still under construction, even if I have already finished my college years there, yet they have also taught me to keep growing in the knowledge and grace of Jesus. I am forever grateful that I was able to become part of this training and I am willing to pass these things to people I minister to. Thank you so much BTC.

Ptr Junjie Patiluna: I am forever grateful to God that I attended a great school like BTC. Me and my family will treasure this school for how this school molded us and brought an impact of how we live and minister to people today. I can still look back to the time before coming to BTC as a newly converted Christian (almost 2 years). I just had this knowledge about how God loves me and how Jesus died for me. BTC helped me understand the very foundation of my faith by their thorough studying of the Scripture. We had also the best faculty and staff who modeled for me how to live as a Christian leader without compromising and how to give the answer to the enduring problem that is rising in this generation. Through this training and practical teaching I was helped to be prepared for the ministry where God called me.

Ptr Christopher Rota: When I became a believer of the Lord Jesus Christ, I decided and committed my life to serve Him in whatever ways I can and wherever He may put me. BTC was part of my journey in doing the ministry that He has entrusted to me by helping me grow in my spiritual life through disciplines like waking up early in the morning to do devotions, to do every little thing that helps develop my daily walk with the Lord. BTC also helps me to come out from my comfort zone and to fully trust God in all His leading and equipping me to become more and more like Christ. BTC has helped me realized how important it is to connect and interact with people whom the Lord has used to help me in so many ways. I am so thankful to God for the BTC family who has been part of my journey in guiding, leading, teaching, encouraging, equipping, and of course for the love and care. What a joy to serve our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Thank you so much BTC. To God be the glory forever.

Sarah Laurencio: Studying here at BTC is one of the best phases of my life. I could confidently say that God sent me here just at the right time. BTC has made a lot of impact in my life and ministry which I would cherish for as long as I shall live. I came here with the goal to be equipped for ministry and I was not disappointed. The instructions I’ve received in and out of the classroom deepened my understanding about God, the Bible, ministry, people and myself. Among the many contributions of BTC in my growth as a person and as a minister that I would like to take note is on how the lives of our BTC Faculty and Staff had inspired me. Whenever I observe, listen, talk to, or just be around them, I have this nagging desire to imitate them. Their passion and commitment to honor God with what they are doing makes me want to duplicate it in my own little ways. Their lives challenged me to serve God wherever He leads me. The life skills that I have acquired, the knowledge and wisdom I’ve accumulated, the values I’ve embraced and so many other good things I have learned here; I will pass them on just as how it was passed on to me. With all my heart I thank God for leading me here because in this training ground I’ve known Him like never before. My faith was made stronger. Glory to God!

Ryan Rosende: I usually do training in sports since grade school and even in my college years in a different school, but this kind of training is for my physical body and sports. God called me to minister to His people and He used BTC in training me for the ministry that He will entrust to me. BTC equipped me with so many things, like sermon preparations, leadership skills, and church management. The school did not just train me in intellectual things but also nurtured me spiritually. I may not be perfect as soon as I graduate from here but I know that I am still under construction in the image of His Son, Jesus Christ.

Faith Fernan: Aside from being passionate Christians, the people that made significant impact in my life before college had one thing in common. They were all from BTC. So when I finally responded to God’s call for full time ministry and saw my need for training, BTC was the first school that came to mind. And I never regretted that choice. BTC will always have a special place in my heart. All the memories I had and the lessons I learned in this school are irreplaceable. They have positively shaped and affected me and my perspectives in life in ways I can never imagine possible. Being here is more than just having an educational experience. The faculty and staff, along with the school culture, creates an atmosphere that inspires me everyday to maturity and growth. They gave me the foundation to strengthen myself in all aspects of life. It’s the place where I learned to connect with other people on a level deeper than schoolwork or play. It’s the place where I discovered that responsibility is not a burden, but a joy. It’s the place where I made friends for life, the type of friends that are dependable in the ups and downs of life. But most importantly, it’ s the place where I found the Person I wanted to be like and learned more about Him and the cause He set for me that is way much bigger than the one I set out for myself. And I know, this is the place that I want to go back to again and again – to revisit, to reconnect and to remember what it means to trust God in facing challenges, to surround myself with supportive community, to make a contribution to God’s kingdom, and to grow in the knowledge and fullness of Christ.

Jahdz Catubig: It has both been my parents and my heart’s desire to study in a Bible School because I knew that God called me to serve Him in the ministry. I enrolled here in BTC back in 2012 with the guidance of my mother since she already started to study at CGST. She assured me that BTC can give me the best training for ministry. And I praise God that my family supported me in my decision to enroll here. I really learned a lot from my training here in BTC. Classroom classes really benefited me so much in my intellect for the work of the ministry. But my learning did not just stop in the classroom but it continued also in my daily living here in BTC. Here in BTC, I learned how to cook because we are required to cook in our kitchen for our meals. Not only that, I also learned how to budget for our food during the week. I learned more of the household chores in the dorm being assigned with dorm cleaning responsibilities. I also learned how to manage my time wisely through the required library hours. I learned more on how to gain relationships with other people in the dorm, faculty and staff, and friends. I encountered lots of characters and attitudes that I haven’t encountered before and it was a challenge to deal with those with their specific situations. I also learned more of my leadership skills being a member of the student council, batch officer, and having leadership responsibilities. Personally, I learned how to live independently. I lived dependent on my parents before coming here. But now I can say that I can survive without my family. I learned how to be responsible for myself. Now that I am about to graduate, I can say that I am a different person since that time that I enrolled here in BTC. Every situation that I encountered, I can really say that they all contributed to my learning. I am really thankful that BTC has been used by God to train me to become a leader in the ministry that God has called me to be.

A.J. Caparros: As a pastor, I’ve always wanted to learn how to rightly handle the word of truth (2 Tim. 2:15). I wanted to learn the original languages and proper exegesis. I wanted to sharpen my knowledge of the biblical world and of biblical doctrines. As a disciple of Jesus, I wanted to know Him and follow Him more. I’ve found all of these in CGST. With world-class scholarship and instruction, CGST has equipped me with solid theological training and insightful practical applications for my ministry as a pastor and my life as a disciple.

Jane C. Dayanan: I first came to CGST in November 2010. Since then, this place has become a part of my life. For the last 6 years, my calling and ministry have been greatly influenced by the people I have met here along the way: excellent and brilliant professors that push me to love learning and keep digging deeper as I let His Word become alive in my life and fantastic and godly classmates who have become friends. Some I have totally gotten to share life with in the most amazing ways. The 3 hours I spend for every subject have also become an important venue where I hear God’s sweet whispers and timely revelations. I recommend it to everyone who wants to have a closer walk with the Father as they continue to equip themselves to become effective and efficient vessels in the ministry and the workplace.
